Why do itunes songs cut off

Just purchased the Play 1 today and this issue is very noticeable playing an album on my device. Idon't have IOS so am using the Android controller. Attempted to submit adiagnostic report but it failed to send. Is there some sort of crossfade feature used in the software? Still playing with and figuring out the app.

So if you're playing tracks on your Android device, it's something from that device through the network back to the players. The issue I mentioned above is very specific to iOS devices, it doesn't affect Android. A diagnostic would help the best since otherwise, I can simply throw some suggestions from the dark. To start with, this is a great resource. In order to troubleshoot this issue we've reluctantly turned off the auto lock to our phones, this in it's self shouldn't be recommended for security reasons!

Mind you it's has made absolutely zero difference and the songs are still being cut off at the end and more often than not will cut out throughout the song. We have an Apple Airport which we turned off and completely disconnected, the issue is still there. We've spent a significant amount of money on the 8 devices we have throughout the house and the garage and well, this issue is totally unacceptable.

We, like many others buy music from iTunes which we download to our phones, to suggest this is where the potential issue is blows my mind. We've tried only using one speaker at a time and we still have the issue! It's been going on for over a month now and am ready to sell the entire system and get something more reliable.

We now resort to using our portable bluetooth Bose system because it's far more reliable than Sonos. It's an absolute disgrace and needs to be fixed as a matter or priority, Sonos has been the worst technology investment we've made to date. We also have an issue where the Sonos app on our iPads will always pick up the wifi but the Sonos app on our phones won't we've had the wifi checked and tested when using the apps on both devices and the issue doesn't fall with the that!!

Sonos needs to fix this issue immediately. Two different houses that have sonos systems, and in both locations WiFi is super strong with additional access points added to the network.

Diagnostic number I have never had this problem until the latest update--ironically I had just told a friend how I loved my Sonos gear. This cutting off of the end of songs has got to be fixed! Derek Greer. I noticed mine is doing this today too. This problem also persists when the music is synced across to my iPod touch running 3. Listening to the same troublesome songs in my iPod causes them to end prematurely. However, I can listen to the whole song using Quicklook, so the problem must be with my iTunes library or something.

Music options in iTunes inlcude a stop time. If that is the case, you can change the stop time in the info box for each song. If you don't mind losing play counts and ratings, you can re-import your music. I had exactly this problem. I checked the stop time. It was 1 not checked, and 2 it was the correct time for when the song should have stopped. The song was stopping about 10 seconds before. I had another song from the same album that also stopped short.

The same song played correctly to the end on another computer. I recently transferred my music to a new computer. I deleted the songs from the library, leaving the files where they were not putting them in the recycle bin.

Then I dragged those two songs back into iTunes so they would be reinserted into the library. If so, turn it of and check again if songs stop early. I was confronted with this when I downloaded a new version of iTunes, even though the setting was not set before. I've had this issue for a while now, can't even be sure when it started though my suspicion is it came with my upgrade to snow leopard. Since then I had a number of itunes updates and due to my older machine am stuck at The problem always remained.

The one thing i Realized though is that it only happens when performing group import. So if you have a new album and drag all the songs into itunes, each and every song imported has the problem that it stops and skips to the next song halfway through.

Deleting the songs and importing them one at a time without changing anything to the meta data or file, solves the issue. More time consuming, but it has become a habit of me to import my songs like that.

I've never found an answer that actually fixes the issue rather than using the workaround i just described. If anybody knows the real fix, i will be very happy to know. You mentioned that the files are okay, have you tried redownloading the songs that you mentioned? If you see an icon next to the song, Symbols used in iTunes on Mac - Apple Support can help you to determine the problem with the song and help resolve it. For example, are the songs downloaded or streamed?

Are you using Sync Library with iTunes? Mar 23, PM. Mar 24, AM in response to MoonJ. In response to MoonJ. Songs are downloaded and if listened with another player they work perfectly.

They are not downloaded through iTunes Store though. And no icon is present next to the songs affected. Actually there isn't any rule by which one song is cut off and another is not. Sometimes happens, sometimes not. Mar 24, AM. Thanks Strange issue. Some things to consider: By certain tracks, do you mean certain track number, or certain songs? Is the burner Apple's SuperDrive? Internal or external burner? Have you tried a different burner? Are all songs from the same source?

Are all songs the same format, bit rate, etc? Have you tried rearranging the tracks? Have you tried burning just the songs that are truncated? Thanks Erny, i will try the steps when possible.
