Why is god so mad at me

They had but one job. There was one restriction to their physical and spiritual livelihood. All the couple needed to do was enjoy the bounty of God and resist one, solitary, temptation. Yet they could not do it. Both are tempted; both eat the fruit; both sin. The effect of their action is dramatic and immediate. Covering themselves in shame and guilt, they hide from the Lord. God could have come down in wrath and vengeance. Ye that is not who God is.

Instead, God calls to the wayward couple. God beckons them to come forward and disclose their truth. And in the end, while they, and all creation, must bear the consequences of sin, God graciously provides for the couple by making garments of skin for them. What is more, God speaks of the future and promises that one day, this sin would be redeemed Genesis What we mistakenly translate as divine anger is often our own sense of guilt or shame.

We feel the separation from God that we have brought about by our own actions. So, we hide; We push Jesus away. In essence, we condemn ourselves. Our inward feeling of guilt or shame does not mean that we are divinely cast off.

God calls to us. God forgives the wayward and sinful. It matters not the depth of sin, or how many times it may have occurred. God is infinitely loving, and steadfastly forgiving. Jesus expressed the relentless love of God in the most dramatic ways possible. One talent alone represented approximately 20 years of work for the common laborer.

This is the love of God revealed in Jesus Christ. God does not treat us as our sins deserve Psalm God does not scowl at us from a distance. God forgives. This is displayed continuously throughout the gospels. The author offers his readers encouragement and advice.

But all that being said, Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sin on the cross—all of our sins. Therefore, sin no longer separates us from God. And that is grace—Jesus taking the penalty in our place.

Glory and honor to God forever and ever. He is the King of the ages, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God, and full of wisdom. God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind.

Hebrews NLT. For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. If God is unchanging, He is not going to decide on a whim to get mad at us because of that mistake we made. Nor is He going to go back on His promise that Jesus covered all our sins on the cross. The fact that He is eternal means there is no expiration date on His promises. And He is perfect love, which is something we as humans have difficulty fully grasping.

When I need some perspective, I think in terms of something much bigger than myself. The earth is not even a dot on the screen compared to the giant star. And what about a human in comparison?

Obviously, the difference is staggering. We must remember the star-breathing God of the universe is so much bigger than the humans around us, bigger than anything in our experience.

We must put God in a different category. Even though we seem to try to shrink Him into our human mindsets, we must realize God does not fit in those small constraints of acting like a human.

He is big enough to breathe the universe into existence. He is big enough to keep His promises. We may talk about grace as a gift, but so often humans tend to think of gifts with strings attached, just like I did with that friend. And that is often how we think of grace—a gift, but one we have to somehow earn. If I only do the right thing, I might be worthy. First, as humans, we are never going to be perfect. Take comfort in that. God is not surprised when we make mistakes, nor does He watch us with a mad face.

That means He no longer holds all our wrongs against us. God is not mad at us. Yes, you. There are times we think we can out-sin grace, but grace is inexhaustible.

But His grace is enough for us. When Jesus died on the cross, He died for all sins. Christ suffered for our sins once for all time.

He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit. That means all. Yes, even that , whatever you just thought about when trying to make an exception. Through Jesus, who was perfect and never sinned, we are made right with God through the sacrifice of Jesus.

As humans, we have difficulty giving something for nothing. But God is above us as humans. He is sinless.
